In this episode Cory explains an Instagram story that sparked a deeper look into being raised Pentecostal. He combines personal memories, historical context (from Parham to the Azusa Street Revival), and a call to use proper hermeneutics to distinguish description from prescription in Scripture.
The conversation covers experiences with speaking in tongues, the movement’s origins, the dangers of privileging feeling over the assurance of God’s Word, and an appeal to critical thinking and returning to scripture.

Could it be true that we worship our fathers God more than the God of the bible? Is it rude to question God? What if the scriptures actually encouraged us to do the very thing our parents or loved ones shun us away from? In this episode, Cory converses about these questions and provides some feedback that brings clarity to a confusing topic.

In this enlightening episode of "The Chosen Insight," Cory delves into the concept of "moment snatchers," individuals who unintentionally dominate conversations by redirecting topics back to themselves. Cory explores the professional term "conversational narcissist," shedding light on how this behavior often goes unnoticed yet affects interpersonal relationships.
Drawing fascinating parallels, Cory relates this conversational phenomenon to biblical interpretations, comparing modern-day conversational habits to the vital exegesis vs. eisegesis debate in scriptural reading. He explains how misinterpretations can occur when personal biases lead scriptural insights astray, emphasizing the importance of balancing our understanding both in conversation and spiritual study.
On this episode, discover practical solutions to foster genuine curiosity in conversations and how to apply the principle of truly listening, not just responding, in both social and spiritual contexts. Let professional insights and spiritual wisdom guide you towards building more meaningful connections and enriching your spiritual journey.

EP10 THE HARDEST STEP

Monday May 05, 2025

Monday May 05, 2025

I had the privilege of being the guest speaker at my alma mater Kennedy-King College. I was asked to speak before the students and their family at their annual student showcase. I spoke to them about my journey into working in the television industry and I wanted to leave them with three principles that I believe will not only help them in their journey into the media world but that can also serve as key principles they can apply in life.

Although time did not allow me to elaborate on each one, I was inspired to continue that conversation here on the podcast.

PREPARATION
HABITS
CHARACTER
In order to be successful at all three of these, it requires taking the hardest step. We discuss that in detail on this episode of The Chosen InSight.

Do we want the will of God for our lives or do we tell God what we want in hopes that it matches up with his will? There is a nuance here but do Christians recognize it?

On this episode of TCI, we're conversing about a heretical statement made by a popular gospel artist about the will of God that believers are seemingly embracing without possibly knowing it.

Also, we are beginning to include the SOTD (Scent of the Day) in our episodes. The SOTD on today's episode is a combination of two; Palo Santo from the house of Cremo and Molecules 02 from the house of Escentric Molecules. Links for both are below:
